Knight-Honiton
« on: Wednesday 16 November 05 22:39 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I am looking for information on Gerald Featherstone Knight MC (1894 1919). He was in the Flying Corps in WW1 and was awarded the MC for his excape from Germany after being shot down. I believe his family tree was as follows:
GGF: John Knight (1851 census for Honiton shows him as a painter and stationer.
GF: Rev Robert Knight, who had spells as a vicar in Exeter, Bow Brickhill, (Milton Keynes) and the Crystal Palace area.
F: Robert Lynam Knight, possibly a musician, and who married Lena Featherstone Griffin in November 1893.
Gerald was born in September 1894, but I cannot find his birth registration. He was baptised on 24 October 1894 in Bassingbourne in Cambridgeshire.
I cannot find the family at all on the 1901 census.
His GF, was vicar at Bow Brickhill 1907-14 and I believe that at sometime Gerald came to live with him.
I cannot find death registration for either of his parents.
Gerald died from cancer on 30 October 1919 in Eaton Square, London.
His will names an aunt in Torquay (Stanmore?)as the beneficary of his estate.

Where was he born?
What happened to his parents?
Where is he buried?

Any help gratefully received.

Regards
