Can someone please tell me what was/is the "Edinburgh Parish Blotter Comparison, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland".

As far as I can make out, blotter registers are rough drafts of what should be entered into the proper register.  Where they have survived, there has sometimes been a comparison between the two and some omissions - or worse, mistakes - seem to have come to light.  These discrepancies seem to have arisen because of the time lapse between the actual event and the entry being made in the register.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, anyone.
