John Matthews and Harriet Pook

This couple were married 28 September, 1845 at Lopan, Somersetshire.  Does any one have any information on parents or family of this couple?  Thanking you all in anticipation

John Matthews parents are James Matthews and Mary ? No more information available.

Harriet Pooks parents are John Pook and Sarah Cobbett.  They were married 2 November, 1817 at Stoke Next Guildford, Surrey

Any information of any kind is most welcome.

I think it unlikely that Harriet's parents married in Surrey a county some way away from Somerset (there is a Sarah Pook in Guildford, a widow on the 1851 census). This looks more likely to be Harriet's parents on the 1851 census. Finding Harriet with them on the 1841 census would help to confirm it, though relationships aren't given on that census.

If you are relying on the IGI for parish events such as the marriage of John Pook to Sarah Pook probably in Somerset, you have to be aware that the IGI has extrememly poor coverage for Somerset (I have seen the figure calculated as low as 3% compared with Surrey at 64%). North Petherton is on the IGI but South Petherton and Lopen are not.

I cannot find Harriet, John and family on the 1861 census. Had they emigrated? Consequently I cannot tell whether the census entry for John's place of birth was correct or not by checking against a subsequent census.

MMM Here is the Lopen family in 1841. They do have a daughter Harriet but big age diff here. I did double check 51 and she is deffinately listed as 22.
