CROTCH & ROWE - pinning down in-laws
« on: Saturday 19 November 05 22:44 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Can the good people out there help me establish the links with some in-laws, please.

William Crotch (b 1792, Okehampton, Devon) is listed in the 1851 census with a number of members of the extended family in his household and I would like to find the exact links between them.

I have a record of his marriage to Peggy (or possibly Margaret) Rowe, who seems to have been born 1788, in Redruth. They married in 1812 in Truro.

In 1851 they have living with them:

Elizabeth Ann Rowe b 1852 St Hilary, Cornwall. Listed as William's Niece.

Ann Hambly b1804, Okehampton, Sister-in-Law.

Susan Pettergell, (Pettergill?) b 1797 St Hilary, Cornwall, Sister-in-Law

I have found a record on IGI which gives Elizabeth Ann's parents as
Joesph Rowe and Elizabeth Bawden.

Can anyone help find what I assume must be the common parents for
Elizabeth's parents, Ann, Susan and Margaret/Peggy?

Many thanks,

Adrian

Thanks for the replies,

unfortunately I think I need to go back further, All of the people I was hoping to find would have been married by 1841.

I need to find their maiden names and details of their parents.

I may also need to expand the search to Devon and Cornwall.

I've looked through the Links on the relevant rootschat boards without any luck so far. I was hoping someone had already done this bit of research.

Many thanks,

Adrian
