Scottish Census 1901
« on: Monday 21 November 05 12:25 GMT (UK) »
Hello

Are there census returns for Scotland the same as for England and Wales.

I am looking for a David Sweeney b.1864 married to a Rachel Hutchinson. In 1901 I think they had sons named Alexander and Stewart.  They went on to have another son in 1904 who was born in Port Glasgow.

Can anyone help.

Alysse

Hi Alysse,

Thrall has very kindly found the specific information you were after.

Just in case you want to look at further censuses, the 1861 to 1901 Scotland censuses are available online on the pay-per-view site ScotlandsPeople at:
http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

If you have not used that site, it is worth having a look at it.  It also has Births, Deaths and Marriages, and Wills.

Regards,

JAP

Thanks for that info - I think it who Iam looking for.

I didn't know about the Scottish People site, as my husband's family are Buchans this will be very handy.

Thanks again to both of you.

Alysse.
