Francis Bell - Canonbie

I'm trying to find details for Francis Bell born Canonbie approx 1805 and some of his children:

James Bell b. abt 1839,
George Bell b. abt 1846,
Francis Bell b. abt 1848,

Francis' wife was Agnes Graham. They were in England in 1838, 1844, and 1850 for the birth of their children there and I have traced them in all censuses from 1851

neither Francis nor his children appear to be in the OPR indexes on scotlandspeople or IGI. Are there other registers that can be checked, if so, any chance of a lookup.

btw. there IS a Francis baptism entry for Canonbie in 1807, but I don't think it is the reght one.

Long shot ,but there may be a connection somewhere. I have a James, George and Francis Bell--brothers.born respectively 1806,1809 and c1815. James was born in Dryfesdale--don't know about the others. Canonbie can't be that far away Parents are Thomas Bell and Jean Moffat. Just thought the names suggest a continuity. The tree goes back to John Moffatt and Margaret Martin ,and then back to Christopher Moffat b. c 1735,in Dryfesdale. I had considerable help from a lady on Dumfries-Galloway@rootsweb.com who knows her way around various sites. Hope this may tie in somewhere along your line,and if it does,my connection would be through James Bell,whose daughter,Jessie Kirkwood Bell married my Gt. Grandfather. Regards Corriebell.

As your Francis was born in 1815, and mine Ca 1805, I don't think there is a connection. (or at least they are different Francis)

I have so far been totally unable to find any details for the Scottish births

I guess you are right John. That family moved around a lot didn't they? That generationof my Bell's stayed put---A  later one(John Bell no less!)migrated to Manchester.
