Thank you so much for your reply. Let me explain the situation -:-
Jean Patricia Sime Lawton was born 1928 - her birth certificate states that she was born in Greater Manchester - father Reginald Lawton and mother Lena Lawton - formally Pickford. Jean Patricia was left, as a small baby, at a Catholic rescue home in Manchester and from there fostered out to a family, and has never known anything about her birth parents. Her daughter Kathy, ( I am a friend helping), has been searching for many years and as now there is so much information on line she is trying every possible means to find a contact. Jean Patricia's wish is to be able to 'find' a blood relative, she is now 77 and has  had a heart by-pass. The catholic convent archives only have her date of arrival,date of leaving and they baptized her at the convent. We cannot find a marriage of Lena Pickford and Reginald Lawton, so it seems there is a possibility that the birth certificate was fabricated. Could it be that this Lena Sime was married to a Pickford then had a baby with a Lawton?. We have a mystery and the reason for this post is because Jean Patricia has the a third name Sime and the mother was Lena. So thank you again for your information but until we find a descendant of the Sime family it's no good looking for any ancestors.   

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated !
