New Zealand to Canada - 1902?

Not sure if I am posting this on the right board.  I am trying to find a Benjamin Warner who came from New Zealand to Canada in 1902.  Family story is that he came from New Zealand to the port of Vancouver in 1902.

Information on Benjamin Warner.

born 18713 at Moore Creek, Tamworth New South Wales
parents:  James and Sarah Ann ( Baker) Warner.

Any ideas where to look for ship passenger list??

Passenger lists into Canada are very tricky! They're generally not indexed (except for some 1925-1935). 

http://www.collectionscanada.ca/genealogy/index-e.html is a good resource for information about where things are - according to them records only exist for Vancouver port from 1905.

The 1911 census of Canada has been released but it's not indexed yet - a volunteer effort is underway at www.automatedgenealogy.com - can't see him there, but there's still lots of work to be done.  BC vital records are online - http://search.bcarchives.gov.bc.ca/ - there's a Benjamin Warner, died 9 Oct 1954, aged 81, in Burnaby (makes him b. 1873).

Thank you both very much for the information I will check out the websites. I have a feeling the death record for Benjamin Warner is the right one as the family say he died in Vancouver, but Burnaby is close. Going to try and get a copy of the death certificate, it should say how long he was in Canada and that should help in trying to find him coming to Canada.
