FURLONG, Catheriine
« on: Wednesday 23 November 05 10:36 GMT (UK) »
Dear Members,

Can anybody please help?

I am researching my Irish Roots and seeking more information on the families of -

Catherine FURLONG b 7 April 1793 Wexford R.C.
Father:  maybe a James FURLONG
Mother:  Margaret SCALLEN [ SCULLEN ]
Spouse:  possibly Richard Henry EDMONDS
Son:  George Gilbert EDMONDS born between 1825-1833

Was there any Census held in 1841/1851/1861 which may  have mentioned any of these persons?

The smallest snippet of information would be very greatfully received.

With sincere thanks

Hiya Bruce,

There's no existing Irish Census for the 1800s. There's the Griffith's Valuation of Ireland which took place between 1848 to 1864. This is known as a Census Substitute.
The Valuation took place in 1853.

I found two online pictures of a Wexford butcher's business called T. Furlong and Son -  established in 1621. The first one is of the exterior of the shop and the second one is an interior picture.

Hello Bruce,

I've linked this thread to your Marriage bet 1810-1830 thread.
