Looking for anyone researching the name Gahan in Wicklow. My research has led me to John Gahan born abt 1790 in Wicklow. He was the father of Matthew Gahan born abt 1825 in Wicklow. Matthew Gahan moved to Dublin sometime before 1860 possibly as early as 1840's. I have found a family of Gahans near Aghowle/Mullinacuff who fit the profile of my Gahans, but I am not sure. I have got Gahan parish register entries for Clonmore parish from 1816-1833. Common family names were Matthew, Joseph, Maurice and John. I have also got Gahan GRO BMD for all Ireland for 1864-1890's. I will share any info that I have.
Gahan & Heally in Dublin & Wicklow. Bruen & Dunne in Dublin. Mortimer in Laois. Wildermoth in Laois & Tipperary. Tighe emigrated to Vauxhall, Liverpool. Irish Rodgers emigrated to Vauxhall, Liverpool.
