I'd love the picture of the plaque for Clarence Storer - he definately is one of ours

Here 'tis.  I'm sorry its not great but it was on the top row of the wall and I'm rather short, so I took the photo with my hands over my head!  I'm amazed it came out at all.

I'm afraid it doesn't say much, apart from date of death and age.  The register in the War Graves Office (transcribed earlier) had more information.

re Francis Torney - I have just re checked my records and the info from this fellow was from the cemetery register fiche, didn't know he was buried with Joseph who was his father.

They don't appear on the Rookwood CD so there is not likely to be a headstone.

Mystery solved then.   At least I was able to check out the register at the Office for you.

I'll type up the rest tomorrow.

Cheers

HODSON

Ceridiven Hodson

Old Methodist, Independent Section 1B/OC, grave 4821
died:  27 Mar 1945
buried:  29 Mar 1943 (according to the interment databse)
aged 49 years

Thomas Charles Hodson
(same grave)
died: 21 Apr 1939
buried: 26 Apr 1939
aged 53 years

Remarks: The (K& ?) concrete monument was erected on 5 Sep 1941.

This grave is actually situated facing Necropolis Circuit so should be very easy to locate.

I'll be out there again this week and might have time to photograph more graves.  I'll be with someone else who has trouble getting about, so it will probably only be as short visit.

Cheers

The upload of the gravestone to Photobucket has made it hard to read.  If you send me a PM with your email address I could email you a picture that is easier to read.
