Richard & Charlotte LEACH - Toronto
« on: Saturday 26 November 05 21:58 GMT (UK) »
My great great Aunt was Charlotte Leach (nee Lune - she married Richard Leach April 7th 1930 in Toronto - they had no children).  Charlotte was born in UK in and died Toronto 1983, age 91. I think they may have lived in the Hambly Ave area of Toronto. Would like to hear from anyone who knew or can remember these people. Were you neighbours, maybe??

grlune,

On Sundays, The Toronto Star has a page called, "Have Your Say".  People write in about all kinds of personal topics.  If you send them your message, perhaps they will print it.  You'd have to include a mailing address and/or email address.

You might be able to send your note via the website:

You're welcome, Graham!

I had a good response when I sent a letter to a local New Brunswick (Canada) newspaper with a query about my great-grandfather.  Someone even called me from the U.S. to tell me a nice story about my grandfather, too.

If you know what religion they were (if they attended church), I could look area churches up in the Yellow Pages for you.  (I'm in Toronto but unable to view microfilm because I have vertigo.)  Maybe, if you wrote the church, some parishioners might have some memories to share.

Regards,
Josephine

For those of us who live in Toronto, Hambly Ave runs south off Bloor, west of Bathurst.
Presuming they were Anglicans, about half the Anglican churches in this area of the city have been closed in the last 20 years.  However, you might try St. Mary Magdalene, which is close by.  Sorry, I don't know anyone who lives on that street;  it is a mixed neighbourhood with lots lovely old houses.  In all probability, the house is still there;  do you have a number for it?
