"Lousy" St Lukes Old Street Finsbury.
History and List of Burials.
This former church is now the rehearsal centre for the LSO.  There is a very interesting section on the history of the church and a long list of burials with both birth and death dates in many cases.
Find out why, for many years, it was known as Lousy St Lukes.

Thank you.
This is truly an extraordinary document.  The lists of the dead also include details of the state of the skeleton and information on diseases.  The amount of detail about burials, condition of bodies etc. is something I have never encountered, or imagined, before.
This is a book-length document.  The lists start on pages 66, 214, and 259.  It says somewhere that these were basically all middle class people - a conclusion reached by analyzing skeletons!
