Hi Rog,

Messenger went 'down' for a few hours on Thursday or Friday of last week but otherwise I've not had any problems.   Have you tried exiting the programme and re-opening it from the Start Menu?  It sometimes works!

I have noticed it be a bit temperamental from time to time, for instance insisting that it doesn't recognise my password or that it is incorrect. It seems to sort itself out after a short while however.

hi all,i had a problem with msn recently.
not recognising my password e.t.c,
i then realised that since i upgraded to the
latest version i only got this problem when msn
tried to connect from the start menu on windows and then
noticed that the version listed on the start
menu was the old version.maybe some nice
rootschat member could explain more clearly
if they understand what i am rambling on about.

I am no expert here but I seem to remember having similar problems and was told it was because I also had Windows Messenger which, if not instructed to keep out of the way will kick in before MSN.

My suggestion is that you take a look on your list of programmes and if you have Windows Messenger as well alter the settings.

That might explain my problems today Jill.

I rely on MSN to "talk" to my sister in Spain and today it said it was too busy!  I could get Windows Messenger to work with no problems.

I have also had MSN tell me that there was a problem logging on, but at the time I WAS logged on!  Bizarre!

All this since it insisted that I upgrade - why?  I can't see any advantage.

Ho Hum.

Hi There,

I am on both MSN Messenger and Yahoo Messenger. I use Broadband which had a National problem last night but was soon up and running again. I would be delighted to chat at MSN Messenger to anyone researching their Irish ancestors. I have MSN Messenger 7.5 and am able to use the Voice facility but for reasons unknown to me I am unable to use the Handwrite feature. Modern technology is magnificent.

All the best to everyone, Chris
