Hi all

I think I've found one of my lot on 1837 online but I'm not sure of where the registration district is- Hartley West.
Any ideas?

Mick

Hi,
I found the registration, but the district is listed as "Hartley Wintney" Hampshire.
This is not far from Basingstoke, or Odiham in Hampshire sits on the A30 between Camberley and Basingstoke.

this is the explanation of the district

Hartley Wintney
Created 1st July 1837.
Sub-districts : Farnborough; Hartley Wintney; Odiham
GRO volumes : VII (1837-51); 2c (1852-1930).
Bramshill, Cove (from 1869), Crondall, Crookham, Dogmersfield, Elvetham, Eversley, Farnborough (from 1869), Fleet, Greywell, Hartley Wintney, Hawley with Minley (from 1869), Heckfield, Long Sutton (from 1869), Mattingley, Odiham, Rotherwick, South Warnborough, Winchfield, Yateley (from 1869).
Registers now in North East Hampshire district.
hope that helps.

hi again

I think it could be the Hartley Wintney in Hampshire. He was b 8/6/1901. On his dads army service record the place is down as Aldershot. I've just checked the 1901 census under his mums name and the reference is RG13 1105 Hartley Wintney, Farnborough ,Royal Field Artillery Barracks and Adjoining Buildings folio 106 p19
