Nash family - no record before 1901?
« on: Friday 02 December 05 09:41 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I need some help in finding my ancestors, the Nash family.

I have them on the 1901 census living at 90 View Road in Barry, Glamorgan:

Wallcace Nash b. 1858 @ Bristol, Glous
Fanny Nash b. 1858 @ Weston Super Mare
Lucy Nash b. 1885 @ Penarth, Glamorgan
Phillip G Nash b. 1889 @ Penarth, Glamorgan
Sydney C Nash b. 1891 @ Penarth, Glamorgan
Edwin R Nash b. 1892 @ Barry, Glamorgan
Charles L Nash b. 1895 @ Barry, Glamorgan
Alice Nash b. 1897 @ Barry, Glamorgan
Christopher D Nash b. 1899 @ Barry, Glamorgan

They had another son, Albert Nash b. 1886 but he was living elsewhere as a servant in 1901.

I think I have found the births of Lucy and Albert but I can't find anything at all on Wallace and on the 1891 census. I've tried both England and Wales.

Any suggestions anyone? I'm totally stumped.  :(

Thanks!
Waite, Marchant, Nash, Goddard, Pocock, Hiles, Switzer, Larondie, Harris, Radford, Monger, Harper, Harris, Sixsmith, Fitzgerald.

Hi, Rachel,

Tanja (good morning) isn't letting you in on the secret.

Try Wallace under Wash in 1891.

If you can't trace people always have a go at all details except surname and look for mistranscriptions

Tricia :)

Morning Tricia  ;)

OK, this is my secret : Try everything you can think of!!!

First thing I do is given name + birthplace and year. Worked for 1891. For 1881, I didn't find anything so did Nash/Bristol/1858 in Wales.

Sometimes I broaden the search much more than that too!

Thank you so much! I really was expecting anyone to be able to help at all, let alone give that much information! That's brilliant!
