john egan, co cork

hi, researching my great grandad, hih name was john egan, born 1846 in co cork ireland. i heard that a lot of the irish from co cork first came to wales before moving on , in my grandads case he settled in deptford london, married mary drummond, children, mary , john, james, julia , catherine, margaret. any help out there? cheers ...

Hi Cookson, do you know whether he came over to Wales with his parents? and do you know anything of his parents or siblings?
I have found two John Egans, born Ireland, one in 1840 and the other in 1843. Ones a lodger and the other is living with his family and both are living in Aberavon, Glamorgan.

hi kate, thanks for reply. the only thing i know about my great grandad john egan is that he was born co cork , 1846 , i have not any info on his parants, or siblings, i know i am looking at a long shot here, but you never know what you will find out, i will keep on searching though. many thanks, regards janice..
