By 1871 John was a widower, a light keeper, presumably a lighthouse keeper. Two further children were listed Geore aged 9 born Marown and Edwin 6 born Peel.
By 1881, John a ferryman had remarried an Elizabeth aged 44 born Patrick. Edwin was listed as Chas. Edwin.
1891 John was a boatowner and ferry proprietor.

thanks again.  I was able to find a marriage record for the relaive Sarah Radcliffe from the 61 census.  Her maiden name is Sewell, leading me to assume she is Eliza's sister.(Spouse:    THOMAS RADCLIFFE
Marriage:    06 JUN 1848     Kirk German, Isle Of Man, England) I also found the baptism record for her son ( Christening: 16 APR 1852  Kirk German, Isle Of Man, England       Father: THOS RADCLIFFE
Mother: SARAH SEWELL)  Can anyone help me put Eliza and Sarah together on an earlier census, perhaps with there parents Ballantyne and Catharine?

Thanks again

With some help I have been able to find Sarah, Eliza, and a twin brother for Sarah (Thomas) on the 1841 census.  Unfortunately none of the three are together or with their parents.  I have also learned that there was another sister, Susanna, but can not find any information for her.  Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can find these siblings or their parents prior to 1841?
