Hi Bev

John Hopkins b.1803 did NOT marry Sarah Dennis. You are very right about the disparity in ages. John & his wife MARY had two children born in Eaton Socon and then moved the family to London in the late 1820s. Blind searches of the Middlesex Census records will tell you all. Fascinating family.

Hello BlazingDawn & welcome to RootsChat

From the Escans site there is the marriage on 1 June 1824 of John Hopkins bachelor of ES to Mary Wade spinster of ES; witnesses Susanna Hopkins & Joseph Barker...... A John & Mary of ES baptised William 10/10/1824 & Mary Ann 3/12/1826

I'm interested in another John & Mary Hopkins of Duloe/Staploe who also baptised children in ES from 1815 onwards including Charles on 24/10/1824.... his offspring married into my Partridge family. I have Mary coming from Molesworth Hunts. Have you come across this pair in your researches? I'm still haven't got their marriage

Regards John

John, Hunts Marriage Index has a marriage at Broughton in 1813, John Pratt HOPKINS and Mary Ann PICKEN. BOTP. But Broughton and Molesworth aren't exactly adjacent.
