Pocklington is a few miles east of York.  There's no naval base there, it's a long way from the coast.
Godden in East Sussex, mainly Hastings area.
Richards in Lea, Gloucestershire, then London.
Williamson in Leith, Vickers in Nottingham.
Webb in Bildeston and Colchester.
Wesbroom in Kirby le Soken.
Ellington in Harwich.
Park, Palmer, Segar and Peartree in Kersey.

Its very flat-and well inland

I used to work for a chemical company that supplied specialty chemicals to a small company using some of the airfield buildings in the 70's. Apart from fireworks, they also used to make wierd stuff for the armed forces. I remember we worked on an aerosol shaving foam that contained explosive. God knows what they used that for

Pocklington is just over 20 miles north west of the city of Hull which has 7 miles of docks on the River Humber.  As far as I know there isn't a Royal Naval base there, just the merchant navy and the fishing industry (what's left of it) of course.
