HOLT(nee WALKER), Mary Agnes

Looking for information on Mary Agnes Holt (nee Walker) who was born in Carlisle on or about 20 Nov. 1876 or 1877. Father was John Walker. Mary Agnes married Joseph Holt in Ashton-Under-Lyne on 15 February, 1903. They had a daughter "Ivy"(my mother) 1 July, 1903 and left for  New Bedford, MA(US) in 1904.

Have you already had a look at the 1881 census, free to search at either www.familysearch.org or www.ancestry.co.uk ?

I can see 2 matching Mary A (no proof they are Mary Agnes') Walkers there.
One is the daughter of Robert & Margaret Walker. She is down as being born Botcherby in 1881, Carlisle in 1891. 

Another one is living with her uncle John and aunt Martha in 1881, 1891 and 1901. This second one was born Whitehaven.

What does her marriage cert state about John exactly? What's his occupation? Perhaps she was raised by him and stated he was her father?? Unless you already have her birth cert to discount this theory?
