I did a quick look at the IGI and found 58 Catherine Robert(s) born in Wales between 1786-1790 

Have you been able to find her on later census returns ? Maybe she had other siblings you know about. They might give us some clues to where in Wales to search.

Catherine ROBERTS head married aged 63 House Keeper at St John,BACK NEWBERRY STREET,Manchester. Do not know who Catherine ? married or if she was still alive at time of 1871 census.
One of her daughters was on 1851 census as Sophia KAY dau Widow age 41 Silk Weaver born Wales !and Maria ROBERTS daughter Unmarried age 35 Pin Winder born Wales and George ROBERTS Grandson age 2 born Manchester,Lanc. ALL AT SAME ADDRESS !
Would sks lookup 1871 census to see if still there !No place of birth in Wales is mentioned for any of above in Wales.

No husband recorded ! Do not know Catherines former name ! She was born circa 1788 in Wales.If her daughter Sophia KAY nee Roberts was aged 41 in 1851 census I guess Catherine ? married Mr Roberts in about 1810 !

Hi Kimberley,

From your information it means that the family were still living in Wales upto at least 1816. ( youngest girl born in wales 1816)

Also Roberts is her married name so that discounts the list I found on the IGI.

Have you found either the birth or marriage certificate for Sophia Kay nee Roberts. If we can find that we will be able to discover more about her father, Catherine husband
