Looks like the right family.Now the 1861 which I printed when I went to Bury St Edmunds Record Office.I have info of the family of Thomas if you are interested.His 2nd name was Cooper--I wonder where this came from?

Thanks for the info. I haven't yet linked this Prior strand to my own in Halstead but I think it's only a matter of time and generations.

I have the following PRIORS in my research;

Louisa Elsdon married Lewis Prior son of Thomas Prior on 13 May 1882 in Toppesfield, Essex, UK. Lewis was born in 1861 in Toppesfield. He was buried on 16 Mar 1926 in Toppesfield.

Lewis and Louisa had the following children:

Charles William Prior was born in 1884 in Toppesfield, Essex, UK. He was christened on 24 Aug 1884 in Toppesfield. 
Walter Prior was born on 1 Aug 1887 in Toppesfield, Essex, UK. He was christened on 4 Sep 1887 in Toppesfield. 
Walter married Kate Teader daughter of Robert Teader and Maria Ruggles on 4 Jul 1914 in Toppesfield, Essex, UK. Kate was christened on 2 Nov 1892 in Toppesfield. 
Roseanna Prior was born on 23 Feb 1889 in Toppesfield, Essex, UK. She was christened on 7 Jun 1891 in Toppesfield, Essex, UK. 
Roseanna married Arthur Stanhope on 25 Dec 1909 in Toppesfield, Essex, UK. Arthur was born in 1888.

I have not come across the name Toppesfield before. Most of my Priors come from Sudbury Suffolk, Halstead Essex and later the Lambeth Fulham areas of London.The earlier lot were Tailors or connected with the silk trade.

I have a Mary Prior born abt 1868, Chelmsford, Essex.
Her parents were James & Mary Prior.
Mary married Arthur Fewell in 1888 in Bexleyheath, Kent.
I don't know anything else about James & Mary, if anyone has any info where they came from, I would appreciate it.

Hi Terri
I have found a few Hepzibah Priors  but none linked with mine. My grandma Hepzibah was b 1888 in Fulham the d of Samuel and Alice. Samuel came from Sudbury Suffolkand his father from Halstead Essex so no link Im afraid.
