Leith 1851 Census
« on: Monday 12 December 05 16:44 GMT (UK) »
I would dearly like your help in trying to find on the 1851 Census of Leith the Mullen family or any Mullen families.

In particular I am trying to locate Thomas Mullen a bottle maker from Ireland who had a son also called Thomas born circa 1842. The latter might be on the 1861 Census of South Leith as follows:

Peter Mullen H 45   Scavenger employed by the town   Born Ireland
Ann Mullen W  33                                                      Born Ireland
James Mullen S 14   Printer (apprentice)    Born Ireland
Peter Mullen S 8                       Born Leith
Michael Mullen S 7                       Born Leith
Thomas Mullen S 4                       Born Leith
Patrick Mullen S 2                       Born Leith
Thomas Mullen Cousin 20 Boatbuilder’s labourer   Born Ireland

Many thanks,
Michelle

Hya, the 1861 census is on Scotlands People, it's free to register and it costs £6.00 for 30 credits. It's the government official site, if your Thomas is there you'll find him.
