William, Charlotte & George McHardie of Kirriemuir
« on: Wednesday 14 December 05 06:09 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find out about the McHardies who remained in Kirriemuir when their siblings left for New Zealand around 1841.   William, Charlotte and George were the children of Robert McHardie and Elizabeth (Crabb) and were born on 16/5/1810, 31/10/1815, and 1/7/1821, respectively.

Hi

Have found the following on IGI :

Marriage between a Charlotte McHardie/Micah Mathew @ Kirriemuir (14/06/1840). Their subsequent children :

11/11/1840 - Helen

29/10/1842 - James Young

01/10/1844 - George McHardy

04/03/1846 - Elizabeth

09/06/1851 - Ann

Found Charlotte in 1841 census @ Southmuir, Kirriemuir. With her was her daughter Helen and also a George McHardie, aged 15 years, born Angus  - brother perhaps !!

Mariage between a William McHardie/Susan Mathers @ Kirriemuir (02/09/1838). Their subsequent children :

25/09/1845 - unnamed male

30/09/1851 - David

01/05/1854 - Robert

Found William in 1841 census also @ Kirriemuir and living with him and his wife Susan was an Ann, aged 5 years - possibly the daughter of William/Elizabeth Edward, born 10/10/1835.

Also found a marriage between a George McHardie/Janet Mathers @ Kirriemuir (21/10/1849)
