1841 William HARRY, please
« on: Friday 16 December 05 09:17 GMT (UK) »
I would be grateful if sks could find the following on the 1841 census

As seen in 1851

Address: Llwynhindy?, Llanelly, Carmarthenshire

Margaret HARRY H Wid 36 - collier's widow - Carms Llangendeirne
William HARRY son U 17 - coal miner - Llanelly
Margaret dau 3 - ditto

I don't know Margaret's husband's name (could take a wild guess at William!!)

Neither do I know Margaret senior's maiden name: if anyone has access to records that might reveal that, I would be double-cheered.

Many thanks

Hiya this is the only family I can find that looks likely living in Penygraig(In Llwynhendy)Llanelly.Margaret Harry/25/Widow/Y.William Harry/5/Y.Anne Harry/50/Widow/Y.So she was widowed by 1841 however did check out marriages in St Elli Llanelly and Carmarthenshire and there is a possible one in St Elli Llanelly  on 21/12/1830 Thomas Harry to Margaret Rees.Best Wishes Welsh Lady

Hi, just come across rootschat after googling Emlyn Harry.
The other possibility for William's mother is Margaret William who married Thomas Harry on 5/2/1836 (Llanelli Parish Register). William is my wife's great grandfather.

Happy new year

Hi Cjsdad

Welcome to Rootschat!  :)

You will see that it was I posted about Emlyn HARRY - he was my uncle-in-law's eldest brother.

This request (for the 1841 census) was posted a while ago and I haven't revisited the family for a while, so I will go back and check with the new information you have given me - thank you!

The HARRYs were a very large family, at least a couple of generations back.  Delighted that you have made contact!

Kind regards, Arranroots  ;)
