McMahon's of Killybracky and Dungannon 1850-1880's.

Now this is the strange part: I have a birth record for Owen McMahon born 1877 in Killybrackey Dungannon. (DOB 20 June 1877) and another birth record for Eugene McMahon born in 1877 in Dungarvin. (DOB 4 June 1877.) same parents. When I saw your post I thought that Owen and Eugene seem to be one of the same. But one says Dungarvin and one says Killybrackey.

I can only see one birth-

Perhaps the other record you found was a baptism?

Both records are shown as Birth Records on Roots Ireland site. Is it possible 2 people registered the birth one naming the child Owen and one naming him Eugene.

Highly unlikely. As I said, I could find only the one birth registration. Have you checked the baptisms themselves?

Hi Jenny, 13yrs later I’m back. Was 22 back then and family history wasn’t my main priority but I’m 35 now and can maybe answer your questions. My mother was Mcmahon, I was born and rared on a bungalow built on her home farm in killybrackey.
