SAIES, Margaret 1861/1871
« on: Friday 16 December 05 21:44 GMT (UK) »
I have just looked at my 1861 census record for this SAIES family and realise that Margaret Elizabeth SAIES is not with the family in Spring Gardens.

She was born 1844 so should be 16 in 1861 and 26 in 1871.

Her parents were James SAIES b Steynton and Elizabeth b 1814 St Peters CMN.

The name gets misspelt - can be SAICE, SAYSE, SAISE etc - which adds to the drama of finding them all.

I noticed in 1851, Maria HINES was living with the family - a sister-in-law b 1812 St Peter CMN - I presume this is Elizabeth's sister.

I am wondering if

a)she is married in 1851
b) is she about in later Censuses?

Maiden name for these girls is either EVANS or JONES

Any help would be most appreciated.

If you are wondering why there are so many requests lately , I have just found a SAIES descendent in Sweden of all places - and she is 92 so I must get this Tree into some order to send to her pronto!!

Cheers
Jocelyn

That was a good find ! Thanks ever so much - Margaret became a professor of music and died later in Paris , so maybe she was over there in 1871 studying music.

This is almost cleaning up that branch - it would be fantastic to find Maria HINES b 1812 CMN somewhere now!

Cheers
