David MacLay in Kepculloch farm, Drymen Parish, Stirlingshire 1700s
« on: Saturday 17 December 05 03:26 GMT (UK) »
Searching for the ancestry of both David MacLay tenant in Kepculloch farm, Drymen Parish, Stirlingshire, and his second wife Jean Miller.  He was born circa 1710 and died before 21 November 1772, while she was born circa 1725.

David married first (1731) Elizabeth MacGilchrist by whom he had a daughter Elizabeth (born 1737) and a son David who married Margaret Marchbanks and followed his father in Kepculloch farm.

As noted above, the elder David married secondly Jean Miller by whom he had a son James (born 1742) and a daughter Jean from whom I am descended by way of her marriage to Robert Sands in Arnvicar farm on the Cardross estate in Port of Menteith Parish, Perthshire.

Suggest you post a question on the Clan McLea forum:

www.clanmclea.co.uk/forum/clanforum.asp

There is some interest in McLea/McLay/etc from all around Scotland, and information on those in Stirlingshire may be of interest!
