Morrison and/or Smiths Land, Duntocher
« on: Saturday 17 December 05 05:35 GMT (UK) »
Any connections to James Morrison and Margaret Leckie who died 1907 and 1901 respectively at Smiths Land, Main Street, Duntocher?

Their son, John married to Catherine Anderson Brack was a Master Butcher with a shop at Smiths Land. His 1940 death certificate shows that he died 'in shop' although his usual residence was 35, Colbreggan Gardens, Hardgate as registered by his son, John who also lived there.

Does anybody know anything about Smiths Land and the Butcher's shop please?

thanks,

Lindsay

Hello Winniep, really pleased to get this, thank you, that would be very nice of you if you could ask around.

I haven't tried Clydebank Library, I actually live in Thailand but I will check and see if I can get any info from there.

Lindsay

Hello, hate to interrupt here but was wondering if anyone has any information on a Alexander Morrison who was an Electical worker and was married to a Mary Jane Ferguson. They lived at 7 Greenend Ave in Dumbarton around the 1950's. Would appreciate hearing from anyone if they do as I have been unable to find anything on them. Thank you.

Hello Winniep,
Actually no, I have not tried that as yet, so will do. But don't expect to find too much as I have tried that with other family over that I was looking for and never even got a response from them. It is  like looking for a needle in a haystack I am afraid. Thanks for answering my request appreciate it.
