I had found the main part of the family on the Somerset census, thanks, but I don't know why Henry's wife is missing in 1861 or where she is.  I did not know about Eliza at St Mary Magdalen and she is definitely one of the family.  I don't know who the married Townsend is at  Combe Florey.  Did it give the details of who the husband was?

Well done, Tara!  I had always thought that would be likely that Eliza would be with one of the children, but I wondered how many census films I would have to plough through to find out.

What is strange is that they had 2 Eliza's for daughters.....the one born 1843 in Witheridge, and the one in 1850 in Witheridge.  The younger one is "Lucy" on a later census.  They must have liked the name!
Thanks once again

Do you happen to have access to who the Eliza at St Mary Magdalen is with as an apprentice?
