Does she have any idea when he was born??

The only reference I can find is this one

Algernon Farmer
Marriage Quarter ending June 1911
Bedwelty, Monmouthshire
Vol:11a
Page 149

If this is a relative it may be worth sending for the cert to see who he married and obtain the father's names.

I can't spot this particular Algernon on the 1901 census - doesn't mean he isn't there, though.

Following on from Tricia's marriage ref.....on free BMD the match for the marriage is Rebecca A Davies...so it could possibly be him??

I could only see one possible birth on Free BMD:

Births Dec 1887  -  Ludlow 6a 550
FARMER Algier

He's transcribed as Algur Fanner on the 1901 census - b. Onibury, Shropshire, and living in Stowe.

Parents: John (b c1854, Diddlebury) and Elizabeth (b c1866, Clun).

Siblings: Sydney Harold, William Arnold, Maud, James Henry and Ernest Dennis.

Like Tricia, I couldn't see an Algernon Farmer on the 1891/1901 census - this guy was the closest I could spot.
