Unfortunately she was born somewhere between 1901 and 1910. I know her parents names and her siblings but not hers.
She lived in Garlands all her life (poor soul) and was alive into the 50's and 60's.

Garlands Hospital is now known as the Carleton Clinic.  Below is an email address, if you go to there you'll find information about it that may help you.

Yesterday while at the cemetery doing some family research for us, my aunt asked about the plot which her parents were buried in.

It seems that their daughter died in 1983 in a nursing home - no one came to her funeral so she was cremated and instead of being intered with her parents like her brothers and sister and her name added to the headstone - her ashes were scattered on the family grave.

I am heart broken for this poor woman who spent 80+ years of her life being a family secret. But at least we can give her a name Edith May Simpson. What horrifies me the most is that people who I have loved and resepected all my life were part and parcel to hiding the family embarrasment. Even her own brother didnt go to her funeral.

Today I am saying prayers for my great aunt Edith.

Unfortunately she was born somewhere between 1901 and 1910. I know her parents names and her siblings but not hers.
She lived in Garlands all her life (poor soul) and was alive into the 50's and 60's.

My mother worked in the Garlands hospital as a nurse from about 1930 to 1939 when she left to get married. She often talked about long term patients and how  some remained there because they had nowhere to go. The name Edith -------was often referred to.

She talked about how they took patients for walks and picnics and occasionally into town.I visited

with her in the early 1960s and certain patients recognised her.
