Could this be a match?

12 Mill Lane, Oundle, Northamptonshire
William Coaten - head - mar - 18 - lab. - b.Norths., Oundle
Mary Coaten - wife - mar - 19 - b. Norths., Achurch

The only Coaten's in Helpstone are Thomas (b.1791 Tharp) and wife Ann (b.1791 Quadring). They could be related, as there are not many Coaten's in the 1851 census.

Many thanks for taking the time to look for William for me sorry to say this is not the one all I have to go on his age and where he was born.Would it be possible to see if he is anywhere.

Are you certain about William's birth date?
There is a William Coaten married to a Susanna Harpham living in Sewstern, Leistershire in the 1881 census. William's age is listed as 46.
The same family in the 1871 census has William's age as 39. (Same wife, child, etc.) Ages are often recorded incorrectly on the censuses.

Hello Wings

I have found a Coaten family in Helpstone in 1851.
They have been mistranscribed as CARTEN- although to me the image is clear enough 

Somehow I doubt it's the right one though........but here goes anyway.
As they too have a Wiliam-maybe they are cousins?

Dad is 33 year old ag lab widow John, kids...
