The Sloper name crops up a lot in Rushall, Wilts 1851 - 1881. So if I find any connected to Devizes I'll let you know.

Hi Sue,

I know its been a while since we last talked about the Sloper family, but I may have found a connection between Devizes and Rushall, Wilts.

I have just been given a lot of research (25 pages) into the Sloper's in Wiltshire that goes back to c1400. I am about to start on the mamouth task of checking the parish registers as much as I can, before commiting it to my tree. But it looks like our Slopers may well be from the same origin. Doing a search through this document, I saw that one branch ended up in Devizes.

So I was wondering how far back you have managed to get with yours?
