Alexander McLeod or MacLeod b1790
« on: Friday 30 December 05 13:14 GMT (UK) »
Hi there
I am hoping that someone might be able to help me here.
The furthest back in my family tree for the McLeod or MacLeod line is an Alexander McLeod born c1790.
He joined the Blackwatch and fought at Corunna and Waterloo and while out in Belgium met an Elizabeth De Councy (Spelling is not known for certain) and they had one son (family folklore says he was born actually in Belgium) in 1815.
He is meant to be originally from Inverness.

Any thoughts or pointers for a BMD or other details?

Many thanks

Anna
