I notice that Shardlow is in the list of districts covered by the look-up requests. Being cheeky, does this include the Derbyshire parts of Shardlow. If so could anyone please see if they can find the details of the birth of Joseph Towle in june qt. 1841 probably in Sawley.
And also the marriage of Samuel Towle in June Qt. 1840 also probably in Sawley. I think his wife's name was Elizabeth. They were I think Joseph's parents.

Hi Cire,

sorry the Notts FHS indexes don't cover Sawley. But there is a marriage on the IGI for Samuel Towle and Anne Smith 15 Jun 1840 at Sandiacre, fathers Thomas Towle and John Smith. This would come under the Shardlow district, so if you are sure his wife was Elizabeth then this one probably isn't yours?

No I'm sure that is not my Samuel. Mine plus his wife Elizabeth and baby son Joseph are on the 1841 census in Sawley. Thanks Heather for looking for me, I'll try Derbyshire.

1841 Q1 Shardlow Notts & a marriage 1866 Shardlow . Will this help?
