The house is currently owned by one of the several millionaires who live on the Island (Mr Lloyd who sold his pharmacy chain bearing same name) - however as the house has passed through many owners since the 19th C (inc Geoff Duke) and has been a hotel I suspect the answer is there will be none in the house - but the Manx Museum (enquiries@mnh.gov.im) may have the Bacon family papers.  That said I suspect you will not find much - as he was first resident in Malew (ie not Santan) it probably means that he was employed from another job on the Island thus making it unlikely that the Bacon's would concern themselves with where he came from.

Thank you, Frances ... you have been very helpful and informative. This is the most I've learned about life on the Isle yet! I may have to query you in the near future?!
