found old photo ?restore

Hi there ,i found this old photo of some one in my husbands
family,would anyone care to have a go at trying to restore
it a bit, also any ideas as to the uniform or age(we think about 1900/1920.not sure though..

Sorry but the pho is too small to do anything with.

Can you rescan it at a much higher resolution - the bigger the better.

Hi Den, sorry , the photo was found in Canada by a relative
and was sent to me via email(zip file) so i dont have the oryginal..

Hi its a jpeg,  Pixels are Width 1538,,Hight 2048

okay, depending on what software you use, if you resize it to 1100x826 that should reduce it to just over 2 mb if it's colour or 850k if it's b&w.
your next step if you can is to resave as a jpeg at about 90% compression - these steps should bring both your file size and physical size down to something more suitable for posting.
