1901 Census decoder
« on: Wednesday 15 September 04 07:49 BST (UK) »
The Census Decoder for 1901 really works!
The decoder has probably been mentioned before but it is time to mention it again as there are some serious Genealogists out there that are not aware of it !

Once installed (free) from
www.censusdecoder.com  you click on the icon on your desktop which takes you straight to the PRO Census for 1901, search the name that you are interested in and process the results. Sort by page ID etc and "BINGO"
Results (several hundred if you wish) nicely formulated in addressed code by the use of an Excel package!

Regards
Bryant
Researching names BRYANT (Camberwell), PASTERFIELD (Essex and all), RAY (Holborn/Islington areas back to Brentford), POWELL (Glouc & beyond?)
Fletcher (Glouc into Warwickshie into Lancs?), BUCKLEY (Chatham area), Watson (Chatham area).

... and lots of newcomers, too, so it's good to keep mentioning it now and again.

I downloaded the decoder today.  What a great piece of software.

Thanks to Bryant for mentioning it  ;)
