Hi,

Do you know what part of Canada they settled in?  Even if you just know the province, it's a big start.  Do you know when they came to Canada?  Do you have names and birth dates (even approximate)?

Have you checked the free online transcriptions of the 1901, 1906 and 1911 censuses at:

http://www.automatedgenealogy.com/index.html

Have you seen the Canada GenWeb sites:

http://www.rootsweb.com/~canwgw/html/e-index.html

The more information you can provide, the better the chances that someone might be able to steer you in the right direction.  ; )

Regards,
Josephine

Hi Machall,

Have also found a death in BC. for Daborn.

Hi again,

I just seen your website and that we have been in touch before.  I come from the Shorter's of Chobham/Chertsey and Howard's of Horsell.   I finally found my John Shorter in 1851 who was working for William Daborn at Kettleworth Farm in Horsell.

Interesting to note that some of your Daborn's came to Canada as well, my great-grandfather, Thomas Reuben Shorter came in 1910.  I have been in touch with a lady in Austrailia who is from the Daborn's as well.

Hi Karen

From the information on your email I am struggling to find reference to our previous contacts via email.  Please help again!

Hopefully, you have found that our website has moved forward and you agree with the information displayed.

I would desperately like to further the information on Daborns of Canada and Australia as all I have at the moment is unsubstantiated data, can you help?

Very best wishes

Kind regards

David

Hi David,

It was probably a year ago that I contacted you.  I have not done much on the Shorter side as the trail went somewhat cold, however this week I rec'd John Shorter's death certificate, so I am looking at them again, and then I spotted your message re: Daborn's.  It's funny how things work!

I will send you a PM.

Kind regards,
Karen
