Sun Inn - Public house
« on: Friday 13 January 06 22:36 GMT (UK) »
Hi.
Looking for anyone who can give me some information of the Sun Inn Pub, which was located in or around Thorpe on the Hill, Lincs. One of my ancestors Jeremiah Jackson is according to the 1881 census the Publican of the said pub.
I presume its no longer standing or has another use.
Many thanks
Linda

Hi Jayne
If you go to the web site "1881 pub history" you will find what you are looking for

Hi Jayne,    My Great Grandfather Jethro Taylor bought the Sun Inn in 1916, the woman who had it went bankrupt.  My Family were Methodists so it was never opened as an Inn again, they lived in it.  I have recently been to see it and was invited in for tea & to take photos. It has been kept in as much of its original state as possible. Its called Sun Mill House as it was a mill before an Inn.  I have attached a photo of it . Jerimiah Jackson is distantly related to my Taylors.  Regards,  Ann
