Pardon my error. I wasn't aware I was infringing on any copyright. My feeling was that I paid for an item and I was willing to share in a non profit or commercial way, then I could. However, knowing the error of my ways on this board I will comply in future.

You may have paid for it but you are NOT permitted to share that info - at least not in its original form - so copying and pasting is an absolute NO-NO.

If you rewrite the info, (transcribe) or just give the reference number, so others can look it up on their CDs, then its ok.

Have just been able to find his marriage so I'm going to send for that and that will at least give me his fathers name and maybe from where he came. Then I can start eliminating him from census etc.

Off on a tangent, perhaps, but ... if the enumerator was English, and the occupants of the place were Scottish ... would it be reasonable to suspect that perhaps looking up placenames that start with "AULD" might be worth the effort?
