She might have been working by then, as well!

It seems Elizabeth re-surfaces in 1851. At first I thought her age here was 27, but it doesn't look like the 27 written for their visitors and could easily be 21

Thanks Heather. Do you have any idea where Thomas Henry Jnr might be in 1861, please?
I can't find him, but I've noticed that one of their children was born in Coventry, so that's a possibility (even though his wife was in Nottingham in 1861).
I suppose he could have been in hospital, or something like that.

No sign of Elizabeth in 1841 I'm afraid but she could be out of county visiting grandparents or something I suppose.

Didn't they start work young, in those days. It's not as bad as some I've found, though - a 10 year-old coal miner, for instance.    Makes you think, doesn't it.
