Guthrie

Charles Guthrie b1825 Dalston and married Eleanor known as Ellen. In 1861 they were living in Church Lane Brampton with their children. On the 1881 census Ellen is shown as Head of the household with the youngest daughter and a grand-daughter. Two of her sons are living at Blenkinsopp in Northumberland but I can't find Charles.  He didn't die until 1884.  Anyone got any ideas on where to look?

Try RG11/5149/25/8 :)
There is a Charles Guthrie as a lodger with John and Elizabeth Guliner in Brampton. He is 55 years old and a general labourer.

Out of interest I checked on Ellen Guthrie in the 1881 and find they are both living in the same street in different houses ??? Maybe they had had a tiff and Charles went to stay with a neighbour. :)
