Hi Annie,
Moaning about size eh!!! :-[ Oh well,
There are quite a few of these in the War Diary
mainly concerning the attack on the 4th but it
gives one a great idea. A lot of brigade orders
there too. Glad you liked them.

Hello folks,
Thanks to all who has replied to my topic.
The maps are particularly interesting and I have saved them to my files.
How sad to think that a young man with a new wife at home and an only child that he had never seen should be lost this way. I can't imagine that his thoughts would be that somebody alive in 100 years time descended from his only son would be searching for his story.

military history,mainly ww1,manchester pals battalions,tyneside irish +tyneside scottish brigades,leeds,liverpool,accrington,birmingham,hull,barnsley,swansea and salford pals.
