yes I have him back to 1851 census Halwhistle Northumberland [see under] Francis Shaw Northumberland  then nothing no marriage or births for the kids but I do have a marriage cert for his daughter Sarah in 1867

Have you tried him as Francis SHOR/SHORE?  There seem to be plenty with surnames spelled this way.

I have tried that ,I try anything and every thing but the name has never changed

There seems to be a birth for Francis Shaw, Haltwistle Jun qtr 1859.
Isn't that one of the children? So his cert would give you mother's maiden name.
I wonder if Francis snr was Catholic did he maybe have a first name which he didn't normally use but which went down on his marriage cert. ?

thanks for that birth I tried all day yesterday looking for a birth and yes Francis was a catholic if he had another name he never used it I have his daughters marriage cert and his name is Just Francis Shaw
