Marriage Lookup 1840 +or-

Could anyone please look for a marriage of Margaret Roddick/William Walker 1840 with 5 years either side I have looked on Scotlandspeople with no success I don't know where to look any help would be appreciated.

Hi irret,

No sign of this couple on the BVR's either.

Umpteen William Walkers and Margarets, but none of the Margarets with a surname anything like Roddick. (I looked under marriages and births of possible children)

Thank you so much for looking I don't know what BVRs are? We know they exists because they have a son (can't find his birth either but he marries Mary Ann Hughes 1868 and the above couple are on the marriage certificate as his parents, any ideas?

Just found out they were born Kirkcudbrightshire would theu have married there

Perhaps if you could work backwards .. find their death certificates (presuming after 1855 registration) and go from there ?

Re Kirkcudbright ... it is likely that if both came from there that they did meet and marry there (although no guarantees)

Do have death certificates for Margarets parents William Walker dies and she remarries Duncan Mc Arthur 1866?

Died 15 Aug 1859 in Mill Hill Street, Stranraer. Hard to read age
71/79?
Parents James Craig, Weaver and Margaret McCully (sp?)

I can only find 1 Margaret Roddick listed born in Kirkcudbright ... in 1807 but her parents are john and isabel.
