Many thanks Dave,

I can now add his siblings.  William would have been age 24 by then...possibly married.  I know this is the right family as his father is with him on the 1861.

Sorry to be a pest...is this the only Rice family in the area?  Also when you have time to look up the Rice marriages... could I have them all?  There are possibly are not that many.

I have also put a postscript to your thread for the Milliner's of Pente, Re the sexton at Treorchy.  You can obtain internment records at Treorchy library, via email, quote name, burial number and year of death.

Also if there are more people in the plot there will be burial ref numbers at the bottom of each internment record.  I have found many 'strays' this way.  Anthony the librarian is very helpful.  Here is his email addie at the library.

Thanks for the Milliner info, I'll get onto the librarian next week
As I remember that was the only Rice family in Tregaron  Parish.   I'll have another look around.
The marriage records are on microfiche and I have no access to a reader until late March.   Will send all I can then.

Hi Cas

I looked through Tregaron for your Rices in 1841, but only came up with the following possibilities.   The writing was not too clear and I could have mistaken Rees for Rice, especially the latter group  ???

HO107/1376/1, Tregaron Parish, Argoed Ystrad Township, Enum. Dist. 2, Tregaron Town.
Address:   Wotton Street.
Ann Rice, 25, FS, Y

HO107/1376/7, Chapelry of Caron Uwch Clawdd, Enum. Dist. 5.
Address:   possibly Bernant
Mary Rice, 35, Pauper, Y
Margaret Rice, 15, Y

Cheers Dave
