OPR births 1838/1840 ; deaths unknown

Could you please lookup ROBERT MILLER, born c.1838, probably Govan.
His father was JOHN MILLER (related to cotton trade), and his mother MARY BASS.

I also have Robert's wife, ELIZABETH WILSON, born c.1840, possibly Govan.
Her father was WILLIAM WILSON (ship carpenter), and her mother HELEN THOMSON.

I'm interested in the birth and death details of Robert and Elizabeth (I have their marriage).

Hi, Could Robert's mother be BARR and not BASS?

There was one only Robert Miller I could find in Govan in both 1841/51 index which fits birth year c1838.

1851 Govan

John Miller age 49
Mary age 49
Margaret age 22
Robert age 14
James age 10
Also looks like there is a Samuel Couper age 14 living with the family


1841 Govan

John Miller age 36
Robert age 4
James age 2
Mary Barr age 36
Janet Miller age 10

I also wondered where Margaret was in 1851, I found her with Grandmother.

Again the Couper crops up with this family, although Samuel is not here.

Doing a free search on scotlandspeople shows a death for an  Elizabeth Wilson Miller 1896 in Govan

I just had a look at the 1881 census for Robert and Elizabeth.
I'm sure the S's in Bass were R's as sometimes the way the R is written it can look like an S.
Note daughter Mary has Barr in her name.
